Centrally located in the heart of London, Chinatown is today an inclusive destination where history shines alongside modernity, where authentic Asian street food meets refined cuisine, and where curiosity is welcomed with hospitality. Once known for mediocrity, Chinatown has been redefined as the leading East Asian hub in the West.
The rebrand set out to transform perceptions and rejuvenating Chinatown’s identity. Inspired by the vibrant street signs and Chinese characters that shape the district, the design blends tradition with modernity. The overlapping, dynamic forms mirror the energy of contemporary China while reflecting the cultural rhythm and prosperity of Chinatown itself.
The brand identity conveys legacy and familiarity for the Chinese community while communicating dynamism and authenticity to a wider global audience. Since its launch, the brand’s social media and creative communications have been managed and evolved by other agencies, yet the core vision remains: to make Chinatown a place where those at home proudly welcome those who visit.
